edge of prairie
the crow perched
on a wagon wheel

—Cindy Tebo

I live at a crossroads between prairies and glades--a place called Catawissa in Missouri. Many people use wagon wheels as decorations around their porch, near trees and at the ends of their driveway. There happened to be a crow perched on one of these decorations not far from a field of prairie grass.
