    So clear, so serene an image, both on the surface and in the deeper sense of life weaving shadows as our lives spin out. I love it, Jane.

    In the winter daylight
    the geranium from the window
    is playing the spoilt child;
    suddenly at the fireside
    a Bengal cat begin to purr.
