through the window
sparrows wage war
over breadcrumbs

till my gate
two mynahs
quarrel
two cardinals
arguing a strike
overruled
Exaggeration inflames the masses.
Sparrows peck.
Not war.
nobody wins -
a divided nation
goes to the polls
somebody wins -
nation undivide
difference of opinions
-
daybreak
through the window --
harvest moon
-
mourning dove
ruffle feathers --
passion flows
-
harvest moon
labouring cross the blue waters
tuff of feathe
bin laden tape
a cat among the pigeons -
stocks fall
through open curtains
day passes --
winds of war
-
tsunami relief -
the poets read their work
in a heatwave
winter relief -
tinywords
with the dawn
dawn light
a lemon slice
of moon
twilight --
fireflies fly down
from the stars
front porch
I point out the Southern Cross
to my grandson
miami skyline
ghetto home or mansion --
the same sunshine
skyline tower
against the night sky
red and green lights
traffic light
kids at play --
ring a-round roses
pocket full of posies
summer colds -
making hot drinks
from my lemon tree
summer colds
winter colds ...
lemons in season
convent garden
the scent of a peace rose
remains on my fingers
fresh in my mind --
remains of
morning solitude
-
tiniest bird
scampers cross window sill
morning bus
departing with a shudder
squeal of brakes
smoke spuing truck
from city dump --
sea gulls twilight flight
no-one about
on the bridge
"work in progress"
another dawn
dove measures twig --
work in progress
waiting for the ferry
i watch two butterflies
skim the waves
this butterfly
my failure in kind
sinks beneath a wave
waving
from the rear of a car
an ex-pupil
cool morning
through an open window --
wavering of palm fronds
